Rashford urges Manchester United teammates to keep ‘feeding’ Martial

Marcus Rashford has urged his Manchester United teammates to keep ‘feeding’ Anthony Martial following the forward’s impressive recent form in front of goal.

Martial was once again on the scoresheet as Manchester United beat Burnley 2-0 on Saturday evening, opening the scoring at Turf Moor to make it four goals in his past four appearances in all competitions.

The Frenchman’s form has helped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to back-to-back Premier League wins and moved the club within four points of fourth-placed Chelsea, and Rashford has urged his side to continue creating opportunities for Martial as the forward bids to fire United to a top four finish.

“He’s brilliant when he’s one-against-one with the keeper,” Rashford said, as per the Mirror.

“It’s down to us to give him more of those opportunities.”

“As a number nine you thrive off those opportunities and we know that when he is in front of goal, when he’s calm and confident like he is right now, it’s only going one way.

“So, we just need to keep feeding him, let him keep scoring goals, keep the confidence high and we should be all right going forward.”

United will look to continue their push towards Champions League qualification when they return to action on New Years Day, the Red Devils taking a trip to the capital to face Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday evening.
