Rashford is ‘bang up for another derby’ as United paired against City in Carabao semi’s

Marcus Rashford says he is ‘bang up for another derby’ after seeing Manchester United paired against rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final draw.

Rashford was amongst the scorers as Manchester United booked their place in the last four with a 3-0 victory over Colchester on Wednesday night, Anthony Martial and a Ryan Jackson own goal completing the scoring as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side moved a step closer to a Wembley final.

The draw for the semi-finals was made immediately after last night’s fixtures with the two Manchester sides being paired together, and Rashford took to his social media to express his excitement and confidence at the prospect of another huge derby meeting.

“Made to work for it but job done tonight getting into semis,” Rashford wrote on Twitter.

“Bang up for another derby too. Best games to play. Best games to win.”

Rashford was on the scoresheet earlier this month when United ran out 2-1 winners in a pulsating Manchester derby at the Etihad, the Red Devils victory doing serious damage to City’s hopes of a third successive Premier League title.

The 22-year-old’s strike against Colchester took him to 14 goals for the season for United, meaning that it is already his most prolific goalscoring campaign of his career, the England forward having scored a high of 13 in each of his last two seasons.

Leicester also made it through to next month’s semi-finals after defeating Everton in a penalty shoot-out at Goodison Park, Brendan Rodgers’ side set to meet Aston Villa in the last four after they booked their place with a 5-0 victory over a youthful Liverpool side on Tuesday night.
