Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has praised the “unbelievable quality” of his new signings Steve Davis and Jermaine Defoe.
The Scottish giants signed the veteran pair on loan this month and Gerrard is clearly thrilled with the abilities of his new recruits.
“They have got unbelievable quality on the football pitch. We knew that was not going to be a worry for us and that they are two good people and two good professionals.’’ Gerrard told Rangers TV.
“They are fit and they are able to train, but we want to get them up to speed with the rest of the group because the rest of this group are very fit, as we’ve showed that for six months.
“It’s been one of our strengths. We have really shown energy for 90 minutes, so when we get Jermain and Steven up to speed they will be two really big, big pluses in the squad.”
Davis, 34 and Defoe 36, will add some real experience and quality to Gerrard’s squad as the look to stop Celtic’s march to an eighth straight title win.
