Super agent Mina Raiola has declared that his client Braut Erling Haaland’s recent transfer to Borussia Dortmund is ‘preparing’ him for a future move to the Premier League.
The 19-year-old wonderkid completed a €20 million move to Dortmund a few days before the January transfer window opened, having scored an astounding 28 goals in 22 games for RB Salzburg this season.
It’d be fair to suggest he’s settled in quickly at his new club, coming on as a 56th minute substitute in his first game and scoring a hat-trick within 23 minutes as the West German side ran out 5-3 winners against Augsburg
The Leeds born Norwegian was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United prior to the move, but opted instead for a switch to the Bundesliga, though Raiola suggested a move to the Premier League was on the cards in the future.
“I think it was the right move to go to Germany,” Raiola told Sky Sports News. “Because if you talk about the Premier League and you see the Premier League as the most important point of the pyramid, you need to be careful when you come here.
“I think he’s also preparing himself for the best. He’s so young that he has time to come.”
Haaland was heavily linked to United, Dortmund, RB Leipzig and a number of other major giants were said to be interested, though Raiola didn’t divulge which other clubs were interested.
“He was close to a lot of clubs, which ones I don’t tell you,” Raiola said.
Whilst his dramatic debut took Europe by storm, Raiola was not so shocked.
“I was not surprised. I don’t know who was surprised,” the Italian said. “It’s what he’s [been] doing since I met him. He’s a boy made for scoring goals and I know he will keep on like this.”
