Christian Pulisic has told Chelsea that he wants to join Manchester United on loan, following interest from the club’s Premier League rivals.
United are considering a move to sign Pulisic as the club look to strengthen their attacking options and the United States international is keen on a move to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old has struggled to command a regular role in the Chelsea side and made just 13 league starts last season, while he has featured for just 30 minutes across the Blues’ opening two fixtures of the Premier League season.
United want to improve their options in the final third before the deadline, amid uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future.
The Athletic are reporting that Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for Pulisic, who has expressed his frustration with a peripheral role, and Newcastle, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have all made enquiries.
Pulisic signed for Chelsea in a £58million deal from from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, a transfer which saw the winger become the most expensive American footballer of all time.
He has scored 25 goals in 117 appearances for the west Londoners, but has struggled for fitness and favour during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Pulisic is hoping to secure regular football in the lead up to the World Cup, where he will captain the USA in Qatar. He has scored 21 goals in 51 appearances for the USMNT at international level.
