PSG will aim to extend their perfect run to ten straight victories in every competition when they travel to Spain to take on Villarreal in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League group-stage fixture.

The French champions arrive in outstanding shape, having won nine consecutive matches in all competitions. They remain unbeaten in the Champions League league phase, having just beaten both Manchester City and Barcelona by 4-2 scorelines. Their domestic form has been equally impressive: they defeated Lyon 2-0 in their latest outing, having earlier overwhelmed Le Havre 5-1.

PSG team news

Despite the strong momentum, Luis Enrique has several important players unavailable. Ousmane Dembélé is out, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia continues his recovery from a serious cruciate ligament injury.

At the back, captain Marquinhos is sidelined with a hamstring problem, and Nuno Mendes and Alessandro Longoni are also unavailable because of leg injuries.

However, Achraf Hakimi provides a major boost, having delivered a remarkable hat-trick against Le Havre on Friday and continuing to perform at an exceptional level.

Enrique is expected to stick with his usual 4-3-3 setup. Matvey Safonov is likely to start in goal, while the attacking trio of Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres, and Désiré Doué will be responsible for finding a way past Villarreal’s defence.

PSG predicted lineup

Possible PSG starting XI: Safonov; Hakimi, Beraldo, Pacho, Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fernandez; Doue, Torres, Akliouche

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday, 3rd November.
