PSG to rival Manchester United for Rasmus Hojland

Paris Saint-Germain are set to compete with Manchester United for the signing of Rasmus Hojland after making an inquiry into the Atalanta forward’s availability.

Manchester United are chasing a deal to sign Hojland as Erik ten Hag looks to add a number nine to his options ahead of next season.

The Red Devils are yet to submit an official offer for the 20-year-old as the club focus on signing a new goalkeeper, but have placed Hojland at the top of their list of centre-forward targets.

Hojland is attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs after an exciting emergence at Atalanta. He scored 10 goals in all competitions last season and has made a prolific start to his international career, with six goals in six appearances for Denmark.

United now face competition from PSG for Hojland after Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Ligue 1 champions have made an approach. PSG are considering forward additions ahead of the potential departure of Kylian Mbappe, who has informed the club that he will not extend his current contract.

Mbappe’s deal expires next summer and PSG’s stance is that the 24-year-old will be sold this summer unless he signs an extension, with the Parisians unwilling to lose the club’s record goalscorer on a free transfer.
