Tweets of the Week – Sterling’s apology, Man United bantered, VAR is an EU invention

The best and funniest football-related tweets of the week, featuring Raheem Sterling’s apology to FPL managers, Manchester United getting bantered online, and why the EU is to blame for VAR

Raheem Sterling scored (again) for Manchester City on Sunday, but the England wide forward still had to issue an apology for his performance.

And yes, I was one of those many FPL managers who captained him.

Jack Grealish was pretty happy to put an unwanted record behind him.

Everton weren’t so pleased, however.ย

Manchester United got absolutely dragged for Tweeting this.ย

And the ultimate ignominy โ€” getting bantered by Crystal Palace.ย

There was even more comedy to come in the game itself.

Freudian slip.

If we never hear the word ‘Brexit’ again it’ll be too soon.ย

Racism was a big taking point during the week after abuse was sent the way of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford after they both missed penalties in the Premier League.

The Manchester United forward condemned the racist abuse online.

Followed by his French teammate, who sent this message over Twitter and Instagram:

Hard to come back from that.ย

I can never unsee this, and now neither can you.

The kitman union.ย
