Premier League clubs chase free agent Morelos

Alfredo Morelos is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs as the forward approaches the end of his contract at Rangers.

Morelos is set to become a free agent this summer and his availability has alerted several clubs from south of the border.

According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace are understood to be preparing a proposal for the Colombian, though the Eagles will face competition from a number of Premier League rivals.

Aston Villa, Everton and Wolves are all interested in 26-year-old, who has scored 122 goals in 263 appearances across all competitions for Rangers, while Burnley and Middlesbrough will target a deal should the duo be successful in their pursuit of promotion from the Championship.

Sevilla and Villarreal are also tracking Morelos, who has fallen out of favour this season following the summer arrival of Antonio Colak.

Morelos has proven a consistent source of goals across six seasons at Rangers, but has struggled with ill-discipline and has been sent off on eight occasions for the club.

He has finished as Rangers’ leading scorer in each of the past four campaigns and formed part of the team that won the Scottish Premiership title with an unbeaten season in 2020/21. The forward is also Rangers’ record goalscorer in European competition (29) and the joint-sixth highest goalscorer in the history of the UEFA Cup/Europa League.
