Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has said it’s ‘not fair’ that Champions League semi-final opponents Ajax won’t play this weekend.
Spurs face Ajax in the first leg of their semi-final clash on Tuesday night, with their opponents having been given the advantage of a weekend off after the Dutch FA decided to cancel this weekend’s Eredivisie fixtures.
Pochettino’s side face West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday, just three days before the clash with Ajax, and the Argentine feels his side have been disadvantaged by their opponents break.
“It is difficult. I understand that in this type of situation everyone can have an opinion,” Pochettino told his pre-match press conference.
“I know very well the Premier League and FA have tried to help.
“It’s true that the Premier League is very different to the Dutch league, the fact or the reality is they are not going to play. I think it’s not fair.”
