Pellegrini: A ‘good’ season but West Ham ‘must do better’

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini says the club have had a ‘good season’ but ‘must do better’ next year.

Pellegrini arrived at the club last summer following a 13th placed finish for the London side, with the Hammers currently 11th ahead of their final day fixture with Watford.

A win will see West Ham overtake their opponents and secure a top half finish, and Pellegrini admits victory at Vicarage Road will finish off a positive campaign.

“It means we would have a good season, especially when you compare with last season. That must not be all though, it is important to know that we made an improvement, but we must do better next season,” Pellegrini told his pre match press conference.

“Last year we came 13th so if we come in the top ten that’s good for this season, but we need to continue improving.”

“I hope we can finish with a third win in a row and get to 50 points too. When we started the season, we had just six weeks working in pre-season, but now after one year of working we have an improvement, and as I said that must continue.”
