Parker admits defensive ‘errors’ cost Fulham again after Leicester loss

Fulham caretaker boss Scott Parker has admitted that defensive ‘errors’ were once again to blame after seeing his side beaten 3-1 at Leicester City.

Goals from Youri Tielemans and a Jamie Vardy brace secured Brendan Rodger’s first win as Leicester manager, with Floyd Ayite replying for Fulham.

Fulham, who have the worst defensive record in the division, face an uphill battle to avoid relegation after slipping 13 points from safety, and Parker admits defensive mistakes again proved costly.

“The second half was a massive improvement,’’ Parker told the BBC.

“When we got it back to 1-1 it was us in the ascendancy.

“If anyone was going to get the winner it was us, but we make a mistake and they go on and get the two goals.

“You’re in a league where you make errors and they normally end up in the back of the net. That’s happened to us a lot this year.

“I thought we played very well in the second half, but it doesn’t mean much when you look at the end result.”
