Mark Noble says West Ham are aiming to finish in the Premier League’s top eight next season, after securing a top half finish with a 4-1 final day win at Watford.
Noble scored twice in an impressive win for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, with Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic also on the score sheet at Vicarage Road.
The win saw West Ham finish the campaign in 10th, and captain Noble insists the club will be looking to improve on that position next season.
“I’m not sure where the first goal came from as I don’t usually score goals like that!” Noble told the BBC.
“It’s pleasing after the way we started the season. If we’ve played like we had for the last month, we’d definitely be finishing higher.
“We’ve played some really good stuff this year and the fans can be excited for next season.
“It’s really hard to break into the top six as financially they’re so strong. We want to break into the top eight next season and we’re going in the right direction.”
During his appearance on our Podcast this week, we asked Chris Waddle who was the most over rated player you played against?
We all nearly fell off our chairs when he gave his answer… ? pic.twitter.com/nWEkCacpCS
