Charlie Nicholas believes Arsenal are right to make a concerted effort to sign impressive Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners have been interested in signing the Isle of Man full-back this summer, but the Glaswegian outfit turned down a £15m (€16.7m) bid in the past week.
Celtic want much more for their coveted young starlet, who provided four assists in 21 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, playing a key role in the club’s treble triumph.
Former Arsenal player Charlie Nicholas believes Tierney would make a good signing for the club, although he does have some qualms about his performances.
“He’s got real power, real pace going forward. He’s turned into a very exciting full-back over the years and he’s vastly improved,” Nicholas told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast on Wednesday.
“There is a question mark about his defensive frailties, but then again he would be an improvement for Arsenal, there’s no doubt in my mind about that.
“Kieran Tierney is a fabulous footballer, but he’s got a lot to learn defensively.”
