The Parisian club’s star player left the pitch in tears during a French Cup match.
Neymar is a serious doubt for PSG’s massive Champions League round of 16 tie with Manchester United after sustaining an injury that forced him off the pitch in tears on Wednesday night.
The Brazilian attacker injured his ankle on the hour mark in the cup clash with Strasbourg, receiving treatment on the pitch before gingerly making his way off the pitch.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said it was a “serious injury”, although no details have emerged yet as to the extent of it.
“It’s the worst thing that could have happened to us,” the German manager said after the match.
The timing could not have been more inconvenient for the French side, who are dominating the league, but will be fixated on their upcoming fixture with Man United on February 12.
The club regularly sweep up honours on the domestic front at a canter, meaning European glory is a huge aim for Les Rouge-et-Bleu, who will be taking on a Red Devils side rejuvenated by caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
