Newcastle head to Brentford in the Premier League this weekend looking for a first win in four games.
Eddie Howe’s side have struggled for consistency this season but will be confident after an impressive performance to draw with Premier League leaders Liverpool in midweek. Alexander Isak continued his fine form with another goal against the Reds, in a thrilling 3-3 between the teams at St James’ Park.
Next up is a trip to Brentford, who boast the best home record in the Premier League. Thomas Frank’s side have taken more points (19) on home soil than any other side, winning six and drawing one of their seven games at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Newcastle XI vs Brentford – Predicted lineup and team news
Newcastle team news
Newcastle are getting nearer to a full complement of options with Callum Wilson among those to have recently returned to boost Howe’s attacking options.
Kieran Trippier will be assessed ahead of the trip to West London, having struggled with a virus during the week. The defensive trio of Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman remain out for the Magpies.
Having failed in a bid to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace in the summer, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle target an additional centre-back in the January transfer window. However, Howe has again suggested the club may need to sell before signings can be made.
“The days when teams don’t sell players unless your revenue streams are so big, are gone. So I think our revenue streams aren’t where we want them to be,” he told the media on Friday.
“We are trying to grow them, so I think trading in and out is going to be essential. Hopefully, it’s not going to be players that we are forced to sell like we were in that situation (in the summer) with a couple of days of deadlines approaching.
“Hopefully it’s a more stable setting but you can’t guarantee anything. Nothing is absolutely fixed and there will be lots of twists and turns.”
