Newcastle are being linked with loan moves for three Manchester United outcasts as Steve Bruce looks to reinforce his squad during the January transfer window.
Bruce is keen to strengthen his side this month as Newcastle look upwards in the Premier League table, though finances are limited at St James’ Park and the Magpies are looking towards temporary deals.
Newcastle are eyeing some Premier League experience and will reportedly target moves for a trio of out-of-favour Manchester United players, with Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams all said to be on the club’s radar.
Speculation has emerged that a loan deal for Williams – who has also been linked with Southampton – has been agreed ‘in principle’ this week, the 20-year-old having struggled for opportunities this season following the summer signing of Alex Telles from Porto and the improved form of Luke Shaw.
According to 90min, both Jones and Lingard are also interesting the Magpies with both players having been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Jones and Lingard were both members of the England squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2018 but have fallen on harder times since that tournament, the former having been left out of United’s squad for the Premier League this season and set to depart after almost a decade with the club.
Lingard has also failed to make a Premier League appearance this season with his senior action restricted to the Carabao Cup, and the 28-year-old will likely be keen on regular first-team football as he bids to revive his faltering fortunes.
The midfielder’s contract was set to expire during the summer before the Red Devils triggered the option of a one-year extension last month, though it remains to be seen whether he has a future under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Newcastle are unlikely to be able to finance deals for all three players though each of the trio remain an option for the side, with Bruce currently evaluating his options ahead of finalising a potential move.
West Ham have also been linked as an option for Lingard, while West Brom are said to be interested in Jones.
