Newcastle United are closing in on their second signing of the day, as Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle is undergoing a medical with the Championship club.
Rafa Benitez’s side confirmed the signing of Belgian goalkeeper Matz Sels this afternoon, and are likely to confirm the aquisition of Dwight Gayle within the next 24 hours after the clubs agreed a £10million transfer fee for the the striker.
The 25-year old striker has scored 26 goals in 74 appearances for the FA Cup finalists after he completed a £6million move from Peterborough back in 2013.
Crystal Palace are already on the lookout for a new striker, and have had a £31million bid for Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi accepted by Marseille, although it is likely the striker will move to Chelsea instead.
