Jose Mourinho has vowed to bring silverware to Tottenham despite the club’s ‘current problems’.
Spurs have travelled to Germany to face RB Leipzig in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit following defeat on home soil three weeks ago.
Mourinho’s injury-hit side are without a win in five fixtures in all competitions and Europe remains their last chance of silverware this season, the club currently eighth in the Premier League after making early exits from both domestic cup competitions.
Despite their struggles in recent months, however, Mourinho remains confident in his abilities to bring major trophies to the club in the coming seasons.
โI believe Tottenham is not going to be my only club without silverware,” Mourinho said at his pre-match press conference.
โI won it at every club and I believe I am going to do it also with Tottenham.
โI am here for three or four months. I took on the team in a very difficult situation and now it is even more difficult with so many problems we’re having but I believe in me, in the players, in the club and I believe that during my contract I am going to help the club to do it.
โIt’s not me winning, it’s me helping the club and the players to do it.โ
