Mourinho to PSG speculation continues to intensify

Jose Mourinho is ‘interested’ in becoming Paris Saint-Germain’s next manager as speculation continues to surround a potential move to Paris.

PSG are considering candidates to replace Christophe Galtier ahead of next season, with the club’s current head coach expected to leave the Parc des Princes this summer.

PSG are six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and closing in on a record-breaking 11th title, but a disappointing run of form since the turn of the new year and early elimination from the Champions League means change is anticipated.

RMC Sport are reporting that PSG’s sporting director, Luis Campos, has spoken with Mourinho’s agent over the prospect of taking charge in Paris and the Roma manager is interested in the role.

The 60-year-old is said to be happy at Roma and reportedly turned down a recent approach from former side Chelsea. However, he believes a move to PSG could enable him to again compete at the highest level.

Roma won the Europa Conference League under Mourinho last season, but face an uphill task to secure Champions League qualification with four games of the Serie A season remaining.

Mourinho is understood to be the preferred candidate of Campos, though the PSG board are considering alternatives with Julian Nagelsmann, Thiago Motta and Zinedine Zidane all ‘appreciated’.
