Jose Mourinho has rejected an offer to return to management from the Chinese Super League.
The 56-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December, with the Portuguese having considered several options as he plots his return to football.
According to the Guardian, that return will not be in China, despite a lucrative offer from Guangzhou Evergrande.
The proposal from the Chinese club was reported to include wages which exceeded his £15m-per-year deal at Old Trafford, though the former Chelsea boss is said to have rejected the offer for ‘family reasons’.
Mourinho has admitted he is ready to return to management, but having held discussions with representatives of Guangzhou Evergrande he decided he was not prepared to uproot his family by moving to China.
The two-time Champions League winner has spoken previously about the possibility of moving into international management, however, it is believed his preference is to return to club football.
