Alexis Sanchez finally sealed his highly anticipated transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United last night, and his new manager was quick to hail the qualities the Chile international will bring to Old Trafford.
Speaking to MUTV Jose Mourinho said:
“Alexis is one of the best attacking players in the world and he will complete our very young and talented group of attacking players,”
“He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige.”
Sanchez has signed a four and a half year deal with the Red Devils, and he will become the first player from Chile to ever represent the club.
Details of the financial package put in place to lure the talented attacker to Old Trafford also emerged today, and it has been revealed that he will become the highest paid player in the Premier League.
It was also confirmed that Sanchez will wear United’s famous number seven shirt, and he is expected to make his debut in next Friday’s FA Cup fourth round tie away to Yeovil.
