Chelsea star Victor Moses has revealed that midfielder Ross Barkley has been the Blues’ best player in training so far this season.
England international Barkley has long been heralded as one of the best players of his generation and joined Chelsea last January from boyhood club Everton in a cut-price £15 million deal.
However, the 24-year-old struggled for form and fitness under Antonio Conte last season, leaving many observers to wonder whether he made a mistake in moving to Stamford Bridge.
New Blues Maurizio Sarri seems to be a fan of the young Liverpudlian though, with Barkley having started two of Chelsea’s three Premier League fixtures and coming on as a sub in the other.
Moses’ admission that Barkley has been the most impressive player in training is a clear sign that the youngster is determined to make the best of his undoubted talent.
“Everyone has been good, everyone is working hard but I’d say Ross Barkley. He had a big injury but he’s started the season really well and he’s working his socks off,” the former Nigeria international told Chelsea’s official website.
