Mikel Arteta says there is no reason to be concerned about his contract at Arsenal as he enters the final year of his deal.
The Basque native’s current terms run out next summer, but there have few updates about a possible extension.
The Gunners will be keen to get the manager to sign a new deal after guiding the club to their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.
Arteta assuaged any fears that he could leave Arsenal at the end of the season by promising that a contract agreement will be sorted when there is time to thrash one out.

“I think we are all very much aligned and whenever the time is right we will get it done. There is nothing to be concerned about,” he said in his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash with Brighton.
Arteta last signed a contract extension during the autumn international break in 2024, leading some to wonder if the same thing will happen again.
“I don’t know if the timing will be the same or different,” he said. “We both have the same ambition and the same will so whenever we have time we will get that resolved.”
