Steve McManaman believes the recent international break will have a big impact on Sunday’s crunch clash between Liverpool and Tottenham.
League leaders Liverpool host third-placed Tottenham at Anfield this weekend, in a game which could have huge implications at the top end of the Premier League.
Both sides had several players travel across the globe on international duty, and former Liverpool midfielder McManaman believes that the travel and fatigue may play its part.
“The way Liverpool play, the way Tottenham play, it’s going to be on TV, I presume, on Sunday,” McManaman told the Mirror.
“A lot of it depends on how everybody comes back from the international period, a lot of lads have travelled far distances.
”You need a bit of luck with people coming back fit and well without being injured. You hope everybody comes back alright and may the best team win.”
