Lautaro Martinez ‘wants to stay’ at Inter Milan this summer despite interest in the forward from Tottenham and Arsenal.
Martinez has been linked with a move to the Premier League with north London rivals Spurs and Arsenal monitoring the forward’s situation, with Inter having already sanctioned the big-money sales of key players including Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.
The impact of the pandemic upon the owner’s finances has led to the sales of established names despite the club’s Serie A title success last term, though Martinez remains content at the San Siro and is targeting further silverware with the Nerazzurri.
Alejandro Camaño, the agent of the Argentina international, has confirmed that the 23-year-old wants to remain at Inter for the new season, with the player retaining belief in the club’s ‘project’ and aiming ‘to win another Scudetto’.
“Lautaro wants to stay at Inter,” his agent said to FCInterNews.
“He believes in the Nerazzurri project and aims to win another Scudetto.
“I think we have to adapt to the new situation. A meeting with Inter is scheduled for Wednesday.”
Martinez has scored 40 goals in all competitions across the past two seasons for Inter and formed part of the Argentina side that won this summer’s Copa America.
He has scored 14 goals in just 29 appearances for the South American nation at international level and reports had suggested the Premier League duo were prepared to pay around £60m for the star.
