Enzo Maresca has provided an injury update on Chelsea after Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Pedro Neto all picked up issues in the win over Wolves.

Chelsea moved up to second in the Premier League table after a 3-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. After a goalless first half, efforts from Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto sealed an important three points for the Blues.

A positive night was marred, however, after multiple members of Maresca’s side picked up injury issues.

The Italian revealed at full-time that both Fernandez and Neto asked to be substituted, due to knee and groin problems respectively.

Each will be assessed to determine whether they can leave for international duty in the upcoming break. There was better news on Caicedo, who was limping in the closing stages against Wolves. Maresca has said the Ecuadorian said he was ‘ok’, with the problem just a knock.

“He was ok, just a kick in the first half in his knee,” Maresca said on Caicedo.

“But he finished the game and I asked him after the game and he was ok.

“Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez did ask for a change; Pedro for the groin problem and Enzo for the knee, so we will have to see how they are.”
