Manchester United XI vs Fulham – Predicted lineup and team news

Manchester United travel to Craven Cottage on Sunday looking to arrest a difficult run of form that has brought defeats in the Manchester derby and an EFL Cup exit to Brighton & Hove Albion in the space of four days.

Manchester United travel to Craven Cottage on Sunday looking to arrest a difficult run of form that has brought defeats in the Manchester derby and an EFL Cup exit to Brighton & Hove Albion in the space of four days.

Michael Carrick’s side have won only once in their opening four Premier League matches and sit 13th in the table. Carrick is expected to make wholesale changes from Wednesday’s cup collapse, with a host of first-choice players returning to the side.

Manchester United team news

Carlos Baleba (ankle) remains sidelined, along with longer-term absentees Manuel Ugarte (knee), Tom Heaton and Amad Diallo, the latter yet to feature this season with an ankle injury sustained in pre-season. Matthijs de Ligt continues his recovery from back surgery and is back in individual training, though he has not yet rejoined the main group.

Luke Shaw, who missed the defeats to Brighton and Manchester City with a minor muscular issue, is in line to return at left-back ahead of Noussair Mazraoui. Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Senne Lammens are all set to come into defence and goal respectively, with Diogo Dalot retained at right-back. Kobbie Mainoo should displace Andrey Santos in midfield, while Marcus Rashford is at risk of missing out as Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo could support Benjamin Sesko, who is eyeing his first Premier League start of the season.

Manchester United possible starting XI (4-2-3-1): Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Mainoo, Tielemans; Mbeumo, Fernandes, Cunha; Sesko
