Manchester United have approached Leicester City regarding the transfer of Harry Maguire according to reports this afternoon.
Manchester United have been linked with a number of centre-backs over the last few months, with Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld thought to have been their prime target for a number of months.
They have also been linked with potential moves for Samuel Umtiti, Raphael Varane and Leonardo Bonucci over the last few months, as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defence ahead of launching an assault on the Premier League title.
However, more recent reports have put Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire as the most likely to arrive at Old Trafford.
It was reported that Jose Mourinho has demanded that club vice-chairman Ed Woodward make a move for the defender, and it seems as though he may have been listening, with Sky Sports now reporting that the club have made an approach to the Foxes regarding his services, with the Red Devil’s valuing him at £65 million.
It is thought that Maguire is keen to make the move to Old Trafford, and is due to return to training in the coming days following his exploits for England at this summer’s World Cup.
Maguire only arrived at the King Power Stadium last summer, making a £17m move from relegated Hull City, but his impressive displays for the 2016 Premier League winners propelled him into the England squad.
