Manchester United will target Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana should David De Gea leave the club this summer.
De Gea has entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, having so far stalled on signing an extension and has been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
Manchester United are determined to keep hold of the 28-year-old, however the prospect of losing De Gea for nothing next summer may force the club into a sale this summer.
Should the Spaniard leave after eight seasons in Manchester, United will reportedly launch a move to sign Ajax number one Onana.
According to the Independent, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing a move for the 23-year-old, making him their ‘number 1 target’ after he played a starring role as Ajax completed a domestic double and surprisingly reached the Champions League semi-finals.
The Cameroon international, who spent time in the academy at Barcelona, would likely cost in the region of £40m.
The Red Devils have also been linked with AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, who is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford. However, a move for the Slovenian would likely require a world record bid for a goalkeeper, with his release clause standing at €120 million.
