Villa arrive at the Etihad in red-hot form. Unai Emery’s side have won 10 of their last 11 in all competitions and thrashed top-five rivals Newcastle 4-1 at the weekend.

The former has failed to reach the heights of last season as City have struggled as a collective this season but boasts a good record in this fixture. City remain without Erling Haaland and Rodri, with neither likely to feature before the end of the Premier League campaign. John Stones is another still sidelined, alongside Nathan Ake and first-choice goalkeeper Ederson, who has a groin issue.
