Odion Ighalo will remain with Manchester United after the club agreed an extension to his loan deal from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.
The Nigerian international signed for the club on a short-term deal in January, the forward impressing during his brief spell at Old Trafford and scoring four goals in just eight appearances in all competitions.
Ighalo’s initial agreement expired at the weekend but the Red Devils had been keen to secure an extension, with a Manchester United confirming on Monday that they had ‘reached an agreement’ to keep him at the club until January 31st.

The news means Ighalo will now be available for the restart of the rescheduled Premier League season later this month, Manchester United set to face former manager Jose Mourinho and Tottenham in their first fixture back.
As part of the terms for granting Ighalo’s extension in English football, Sky Sports report that the forward will be ‘expected’ to sign a new contract at Shanghai until 2024, worth a reported ยฃ400,000-a-week.
