Manchester United remain interested in a deal for Jadon Sancho, though would need Borussia Dortmund’s valuation of the winger to drop ‘significantly’ to secure a deal.
Sancho was the subject of strong interest from the Premier League side throughout last summer’s transfer window, though talks over a deal failed to progress with the Red Devils unwilling to meet Dortmund’s British transfer-record asking price.
Recent reports have suggested that the Bundesliga outfit would be willing to sanction Sancho’s sale at the end of the current season, with Dortmund looking likely to miss out on Champions League football and struggling with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, any interested side would still need to match the German’s £110m asking price for the winger, a figure The Athletic report would need to come down ‘significantly’ if the 21-year-old is to move to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have struggled to find a suitable solution to their problem right-wing position, with the likes of Daniel James and Mason Greenwood having occupied the role for much of the campaign.
Sancho’s performances since signing for Dortmund in 2017 have made him one of the most exciting wide talents in world football, producing a staggering number of goal involvements including 33 goals and assists in just 25 league starts in 2019/20.
Those numbers have dropped somewhat this season with the youngster enduring a difficult start to the current season, though he remains one of the most talented prospects in Europe and has drawn admiring glances from Paris Saint-Germain in addition to the Premier League.
