Man Utd make PSG ace ‘number one target’

Manchester United have made PSG ace Marco Verratti their number one transfer target according to reports today.

United’s desire to land at least one new midfielder is no secret, and the likelihood is that Jose Mourinho will probably add two new faces into the heart of his side.

It is thought that the first signing through the door will be the dynamic Brazilian international Fred, who, as we reported yesterday, is expected to have a medical next ahead of completing a £52 million transfer.

With United set to lose Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick from their side this summer, they have also been linked with a whole host of other midfielders in recent months. The likes of Toni Kroos, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Jean Michel Seri and Jorginho have all being mentioned as potential targets for Jose Mourinho.

According to the Sunday Mirror, United’s number one target is PSG ace Marco Verratti.

United were linked with the Italian international last summer, and were quoted a price of £100 million when they enquired about his availability last summer. It is thought that a similar fee would be needed to prise him away from the French Champions if United were to resurrect their interest in the 25-year-old.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to add more quality to his midfield which would help get the best out of £89 million signing Paul Pogba, with the Frenchman having struggled for form this season, despite scoring six goals and providing 10 assists in the league.
