Man Utd look to hand five stars improved deals

Manchester United will look to secure the long-term futures of key personnel as the club prepare to hand improve contracts to five players.

Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw are all set to be handed improved terms as the club look to reward their leading names with new deals, whilst discussions are also continuing over a new contract for Paul Pogba.

According to the Sun, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to hand new deals to the quintet in moves that will move each player in line with the club’s highest earning players.

Fernandes still has five years to run on his contract with the club, but the Red Devils are keen to reward the midfielder with a bumper new deal following his incredible impact since arriving from Sporting Lisbon.

Rashford and Shaw currently have two years remaining on their respective deals and will also be handed pay rises, as Solskjaer looks to find greater equality in the dressing room – with highest earner David de Gea currently earning a staggering £375,000-a-week.

Whilst there are expected to be few problems in agreeing new deals with Fernandes, Rashford, Shaw and Maguire, the situation with Pogba is different with the midfielder having entered the final year of his contract.

The France international was in superb form to provide four assists during the club’s Premier League opener against Leeds, but his future remains unclear amid continued links to Paris Saint-Germain.

Pogba is believed to biding his time as he weighs up his next career move, though is reported to be content with the club’s summer transfer business and the progress the side has made under Solskjaer of late.
