Man Utd eye Aston Villa ace

It’s that time of the year when clubs, especially Manchester United, are linked with almost every player under the sun. This summer seems to be no different.

United are known to want to strengthen a number of positions this summer, with left-back, centre-back and central midfield known to be of particular interest to Jose Mourinho.

They have been linked with moves Juventus left-back Alex Sandro and Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld, and are also thought to be close to concluding a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

There have also been massive links with Gareth Bale once again after the Welshman seemed to issue a ‘come get me’ plea after his Champions League heroics on Saturday night against Liverpool.

However, this one certainly falls into the category of ‘surprise rumours’, with The Sun reporting that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

The youngster was highly rated when he initially broke into the Aston Villa squad a few years ago, but his progress seemed to stall, with questions being asked about his attitude and his off-the-field antics.

However the Solihull born midfielder, now 22, has seemingly settled down, and started to deliver on his potential.

He was one of the best players on the pitch on Saturday as Aston Villa fell at the final hurdle in their bid to return to the Premier League in the Championship play-off final at Wembley. However, with the report claiming that Manchester United are keeping an eye on him then he could be set to make a move.

Personally though, we aren’t so sure a move to Old Trafford will happen, with a move to a mid-table/lower half side more likely if Grealish does decide to move, but it’s certainly one to watch.
