Man Utd close to completing third summer signing as £40m fee agreed

Manchester United are close to confirming the signing of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan after agreeing a fee of £40m.

The Croatian is set to become the club’s third signing of the summer after finally agreeing a fee with the Italian club.

The Sun claims that the deal is now close to being finalised, and he player will jet out to America to meet his new team mates, as well as finalise the move.

Inter Milan have stood firm on their valuation of the winger, but it is thought that the club’s have finally come to a compromise.

The Nerazzurri made a cheeky loan offer for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial in order to try to come to a deal, an offer that was rejected by Jose Mourinho who still has faith in the Frenchman, despite his struggles last season.

Martial impressed during the early hours of Monday morning in United’s first pre-season friendly against LA Galaxy, and is hoping to rekindle the scintillating form of his debut campaign.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are now close to the signing of Keita Balde from Lazio, a move which indicates further that Perisic will be on the move in the near future.

It has also been claimed that United are willing to offer the services of Chris Smalling, or Italian international Matteo Darmian as part of the deal to take the 28-year-old to Old Trafford.
