Manchester United’s highest appearance maker and most decorated player Ryan Giggs has told Gareth Bale that he should forget about moving back to the Premier League with the Red Devils and stay at his current club Real Madrid.
Bale has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in every transfer window since he moved to the Bernabeu in a then world record £85 million deal in 2013.
However Giggs, who is now coaching the talented attacker after taking over as Wales manager, has admitted that the 28-year-old would be better off staying in Spain.
“It’s Real Madrid – there are only a handful of clubs who have got that aura,” Giggs said. “Of course you would want to stay there. What’s Gareth won, three Champions League titles? The proof is in that.”
“When you are at clubs like that, you are always going to win things. Gareth has the ability to score every type of goal and there are similarities with Cristiano Ronaldo. They both started out as wingers and they are now goalscorers.” Giggs said.
Bale has enjoyed plenty of success since moving to Madrid, winning three Champions League and a La Liga title. He has also netted an impressive 63 goals in 119 appearances for the Spanish giants.
However, he has never really been accepted by the notoriously harsh Bernabeu crowd and has struggled with injury over the last couple of seasons, leading many to suggest he may move back to the Premier League this summer.
