Guardiola admits Sane future out of Man City’s hands

Pep Guardiola admits Leroy Sane’s future at Manchester City is out of the club’s hands.

Bayern Munich have been public in expressing their interest in signing the Germany international this summer, though Man City are not yet believed to have received an official bid for the 23-year-old.

Having been crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2017/18, Sane endured a frustrating season last term on a personal level, starting just 21 Premier League games.

Sane, who has just two years remaining on his contract at the Etihad, scored twice in City’s 6-1 pre-season win over Kitchee in Hong Kong and Guardiola insists he wants the winger to stay, although the situation is out of his hands.

“He did a good game, especially in the second half. He is a guy who we appreciate, I like him a lot,” said Guardiola after the win over Kitchee.

“I think he can be better. Two times, three times I said: we want him to stay.

“That’s why he has an offer to extend his contract. It’s not in our hands.

“The agreement is good and if he wants to leave, I’ll be sad. Hopefully, he stays.”

The English champions are believed to value him at £90 million.
