Lukaku admits he’s lacked ‘intensity and aggression’ this season

Romelu Lukaku has criticised his own performances so far this season, admitting his play has lacked ‘intensity and aggression’.

The Manchester United forward scored 27 goals in his debut season at Old Trafford but has struggled to replicate that form so far this term, but after scoring twice in his past three games believes he is getting back to his best.

The Belgian has been criticised over his form and fitness in the press this season and has been dropped recently by United boss Jose Mourinho, although Lukaku reckons he has identified the problems in his game.

“Not enough intensity. I played with not enough aggression, I think,” Lukaku told the Times.

“Today I think I played with intensity like everybody else did. For me, I was happy to play at a decent level again and now it’s all about improving and continuing on a consistent basis.”
