Lukaku: I’m coming for Thierry Henry’s goal record

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he is aiming to match Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s total of 175 Premier League goals.

The 25-year-old forward recently overtook his close friend and mentor, former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba’s total of 104 top flight goals, although Lukaku revealed that the Ivorian was quick to remind him of the four Premier League trophies he won during his career.

”When that happened he sent me four cups [for his four Premier League titles] on Snapchat! We speak every day and it’s really nice because he’s been part of the process,” Lukaku told Manchester United’s official website.

Lukaku then admitted he has been in touch with his former coach for Belgium Thierry Henry to let him know that he is the next one of his childhood idols whose goals record he has in his sights.

”Now I’m talking to Thierry Henry saying ‘I’m coming for you’ on 175! I’m laughing saying it to him but, deep down, inside he knows I’m dead serious!’’
