Arsenal can stretch their lead at the Premier League summit to six points, at least temporarily, when they host Hull City at the Emirates Stadium, with title rivals Manchester City not in action until the evening kick-off.
Mikel Arteta’s side arrive in rampant form, a 1-0 win at Anfield last weekend having ended a 14-year wait for a Premier League victory on Liverpool’s turf and stretched their own winning run in the division to four matches. Hull, by contrast, have not tasted Premier League victory since the opening weeks of the season, their 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town in gameweek nine extending a run of eight matches without a win to leave Sergej Jakirovic’s side marooned in 11th.
Arsenal’s 24 points from nine games is bettered only by the title-winning sides of 2004-05 and 2007-08 in the post-1992 era, and the reigning champions remain the division’s only club with a perfect home record this season. Hull have proven stubborn opponents in recent weeks, drawing five of their last eight matches, but they have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven straight games across all competitions and have lost three of their last four on the road. Arsenal have not lost to Hull since a shock defeat in 2008, and remain unbeaten in 14 meetings since, with their most recent victory a 2-0 success courtesy of an Alexis Sanchez double in February 2017.

Team news
Arsenal
Bukayo Saka (quad) and the suspended Max Dowman remain the only confirmed absentees, while Ezri Konsa’s availability is in doubt after he was withdrawn during Wednesday’s Champions League win over Slavia Prague. William Saliba made his first matchday squad of the season in that match but remains behind Cristhian Mosquera in the pecking order, with Kai Havertz expected to continue ahead of Viktor Gyokeres up front.
Hull City
Matt Crooks is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, joining a lengthy injury list that includes Eliot Matazo, Matt Targett, Lucas Gourna-Douath, Ilyas Ansah, Darko Gyabi, Charlie Hughes and the newly-sidelined Hidemasa Morita. Jack Butland could return to the squad after an arm injury, while Oli McBurnie is available to lead the line having avoided a caution against Ipswich.
Form
Arsenal
Arsenal have won four straight league matches and remain the only Premier League side with a 100% home record this season, a run that has coincided with Kai Havertz establishing himself as the competition’s highest-scoring German player of all time.
Hull City
Hull have won just once in their last nine matches across all competitions, though their draw-heavy run has kept them competitive, sharing the spoils in three of their last four fixtures despite struggling for possession and chance creation.
Predicted lineups
Arsenal possible starting XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Gabriel, Calafiori; Guimaraes, Rice; Madueke, Odegaard, Tzolis; Havertz
Hull City possible starting XI (5-4-1): Tzolakis; Coyle, Egan, Mendy, Ajayi, Giles; Belloumi, Slater, Iroegbunam, Stroud; McBurnie
