David Luiz has said that Arsenal can still ‘improve a lot’ following their 2-1 win over Burnley this afternoon.
Arsenal took the lead through Alexandre Lacazette, who wriggled away from Erik Pieters to squirm the ball through the legs of Nick Pope in the Burnley goal.
The Gunners were pegged back just before the half-time interval, with Ashley Barnes capitalising on some sloppy defending from the hosts, however, the points were secured in the 64th minute by last season’s golden boot winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who fired home from the edge of the area.
While Arsenal looked decent during their first home game of the season, Burnley did cause the Gunners problems at the back, and having made his first appearance for the North London club, David Luiz said that his new club can still improve.
“I’m so happy to be here, to try to do my job, and also to enjoy with these kinds of quality players,” Luiz told BT Sport.
“I think there is still a lot to do, we can improve a lot, and we can fight for all the competitions and we want to be step-by-step, working hard.
“Its a pleasure to be here because everybody is humble, everybody wants to learn, everybody wants to improve, and we want this club to shine again.”
"We feel stronger, of course we can fight for the top four."
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang believes that reinforcements to the Arsenal squad such as David Luiz ensure they can push on in the Premier League. 👊
