Liverpool travel to Tottenham Hotspur this evening in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
The holders head to North London looking to take a step closer to Wembley and the first silverware of the Arne Slot era. In addition to reaching the last four of this competition, Slot’s side lead the Premier League and Champions League standings. However, the Reds suffered a setback at the weekend after being held to a draw by Manchester United at Anfield.

Cody Gakpo, who scored in that draw, will be aiming to continue his brilliant record in this competition. The Dutchman has scored eight goals in nine previous League Cup appearances, including four this season. No player has managed more.
Liverpool team news
Arne Slot could choose to take Trent Alexander-Arnold out of the firing line after the right-back’s poor performance at the weekend. The 26-year-old was criticised for his display against Manchester United, amid speculation surrounding a potential move to Real Madrid.
Dominik Szoboszlai may return from the illness that saw him miss the weekend’s game, while Joe Gomez remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Slot will make decisions on the likes of Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, who will all be hoping for minutes. However, Saturday’s FA Cup tie with fourth-tier Accrington Stanley appears a likelier contest for wholesale changes.
Liverpool predicted lineup
Liverpool predicted XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Jota, Gakpo.
