Liverpool outcast Alberto Moreno is being linked with a shock move to Barcelona.
The Spanish full-back has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Anfield, with the development of Andy Robertson at left-back restricting the 26-year-old to just four appearances so far this season.
Moreno signed for Liverpool from hometown club Sevilla in 2014 but has failed to truly establish himself at the club, with boss Jurgen Klopp preferring to use James Milner as a make-shift left-back until Robertson’s emergence following his signing from Hull City.
Despite being deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield, the Daily Mail are reporting that Barcelona are plotting a move to take the four-cap Spain international back to La Liga, with the Spanish champions seeking cover at full-back for Jordi Alba.
Moreno is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer and is expected to return to Spain, with Barcelona chiefs having targeted the player as a low-cost addition to the squad.
