Liverpool legend Steve Nicol reckons Jose Mourinho’s time as Manchester United manager will be over by the end of this week.
Mourinho was already one of the favourites to be the first Premier League to be sacked this season after a summer that saw him reportedly fall out with his clubs board over transfer targets and several of his star players, as well as his constant media outbursts.
When Nicol was asked by ESPN FC Extra Time how long more Mourinho would remain at Old Trafford, he replied:
“How long is this segment?
“Has he got that long? He could be gone by the time we’ve finished this segment.
“I wouldn’t be shocked if he was gone. End of the week, I wouldn’t be shocked. Absolute shambles.
“He just got beat 3-0 at home, the place is an absolute shambles, the place is in turmoil and he’s clapping the fans.
“And in the press conference, the only thing he’ll talk about is how he’s won three Premier League titles.
“What does that tell you about what he’s thinking?”
