Gary McAllister has hailed Jordan Henderson and James Milner and believes the midfield duo are the perfect examples to the rest of the Liverpool squad.
McAllister previously spent time working with the pair during his time on the coaching staff at Anfield, before moving into his current role as assistant manager at Rangers under Steven Gerrard.
The Scot – who also formed part of the Liverpool side which won a cup treble in 2001 – has kept a close eye on the progress of his former side under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, the German having transformed the Reds into arguably the finest club side in world football at present.
McAllister believes that Liverpool are helped by the presence of two model professionals in captain Henderson and deputy Milner, labelling the duo as ‘proper men’ for their leadership and ability to maintain the highest of standards.
“You cannot speak highly enough of Jordan. He’s a fantastic guy around the place,” McAllister told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I think what you see on a matchday is what you see every day on the training field.
“He’s always setting an example in how he navigates from Monday to Friday through the training, setting those standards and those levels. I’m really pleased for the guy.
“[Milner’s] been a fantastic signing. He’s obviously a Leeds boy and made his debut very early for Leeds United as well.
“He’s somebody that I’ve always kept an eye on and admired throughout his long career. Again, what you see is what you get.
“They’re two proper men.”
