Everyone loves a derby, and the Merseyside derby is one of the closest in terms of distance in the whole of English football, with the two grounds being less than 1 mile apart.
There have been many great players playing for both clubs, with the 70’s and 80’s being a particularly successful period for both Merseyside clubs.
Since the inception of the Premier League in 1992, the trophies that were such regular visitors to Merseyside have become less frequent, but there have still been some great players to play for both sides.
