Nabil Fekir’s move to Liverpool is reportedly close to completion as Jurgen Klopp eyes his first signing of the summer.
The Lyon midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with Arsenal thought to have been close to agreeing a deal a few months ago, which would see him reunited with his former teammate Alexandre Lacazette.
Fekir started what is likely to be his final game for Lyon as they took on Nice on Saturday night.
The club’s captain has scored 22 goals in 38 games for his club, inspiring a push for a Champions League place with a standout season.
Speaking to Canal+ after the game, the 24-year-old was certainly open to the prospect of leaving the club where he has spent his entire senior career.
“I do not know [what will happen], frankly. I spent an exceptional season here, with an audience, players, an exceptional staff, a lot of emotions and tonight we finished in style,” he said.
“I gave everything for Lyon, we’ll see for the future. Even if all was not perfect this season, we finished well.
“It’s been four years since I’ve been pro and it’s one of my greatest joys [to finish third].”
