Liverpool look set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Nabil Fekir with reports in France reporting that they have agreed a deal worth €70 million.

Fekir has long been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months but the reliable RMC are report that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Lyon for the transfer of their captain.

Former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier, who is now a special advisor to the Ligue 1, has reportedly played a large role in the negotiations, having spent a number of weeks in England facilitating a deal.

It is also claimed that the agreement also includes the transfer of Nabil’s brother, Yassin Fekir, a 21-year-old midfielder who has recently begun training with the Lyon first team.

It is claimed that Nabil Fekir has already reached an agreement over a five year contract with the Champions Leahue finalists.
